| Scratch Lounge donates 10% of all profits to our designated charity, the new Amanda Foundation Mobile Clinic that will launch this summer. Check out the beautiful photos of the new clinic below.
Scratch Lounge believes that the Amanda Foundation mobile clinic program is the most important component to the no-kill shelter goal, because it serves pet guardians, who are in most need of the services. These are the people who lack transportation, do not have affordable (or any) vet services in their immediate neighborhood, and usually have no knowledge of the City’s outreach efforts. They learn about the program through word of mouth, they see the mobile clinic parked in their community, or they get a flyer that is handed out to them by their minister, teacher, community leader, food bank, etc. The mobile clinic goes to the poorest areas in the City of Los Angeles, the same areas that have few positive resources. By donating to the mobile clinic, Scratch Lounge is a partner in reducing the numbers of unwanted pets that end up dying in the shelters.
The Amanda Foundation runs the most successful spay/neuter mobile program in the United States, performing over 7,000 surgeries per year. Five days a week, cats and dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated at no charge to their low-income guardians.
